Edward Sharpe is magnetic
With Drew Barrymore and many others in attendance to see the 10+ band at the SXSW PureVolume 4AM show, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros kept us awake and rowdy with their jam-rock-grab-an-instrument- and-wail-attitude. I stumbled upon them thoroughly convinced that if the Ken Kesey acid test gang had a band, it would be like this. Frenetic and Rambunctious. All while emulating hippie style and showcasing legit musical-improv talent. I would wander off with the intention to strike up random convos & grab a Tito’s and red bull, but found myself right back in the front of the stage jumping around like a hooligan. Every element of the show combined made them explode into a truly magnetic force. And finally, an EP has been released that you can download at their Myspace page. Album due mid-july…
If you are in cali- hunt them down because sweating, jumping and clapping with them is the true way to fall in love, just like I and many others did that morning.
