the thing about the cool kids is…

AUSTIN, BANDS

they play for the most “random” & ridiculous audiences in the times I have seen them…

UT Austin frat party – Blonde sorrostitutes and Tahoe-tastic frat daddies….and me

San Fran and Austin – lots ‘o hipsters(inevitably)…and me

Rothbury –hippies, ravers, w00ks…and me

I grew to love them more and more because they are just one-of-a-kind, but UT ‘s show was insanely good. To sum it up, I paid $10 to enjoy the Cool Kids, never-ending Keystone Light and a time machine back to the good ol’ college days. And to top it all off : The Cool Kids wrote that this show was the craziest show they have ever done – EVER – including over-seas shows.

Rothbury…not so much. They were doing their usual spout out of  humorous lyrics while creeping around stage with their jokester attitudes, but this show just wasn’t doin’ it for me. The two rappers Mikey Rocks & Chuck Inglish met while in the Chicago area and had(and always do have) an undeniable chemistry - not only with each other, but with the crowd as well. You can tell when they are on stage egging each other on and pushing each other to rap longer, louder and more clever, that the duo is a legit friendship, and they just happen to be great, fresh rappers. They rap about elementary subjects like cereal and pagers and are down with the innocent lyrics - except their beat is pounding from the Detroit area. Regardless of all this, this show was not a fave, but if I had the opportunity to see them again, I would go in a heartbeat.
