AUSTIN, BANDS, MUSINGS

This past July, a herd of music crazed fans piled into the New Braunfels river-side venue for two nights of Austin’s favorite band Ghostland Observatory. After a long day of floating the river, the braided singer and caped keyboardist’s sounds were the perfect way to end your day.

However, for some, Ghostland merely served as an opener for the group Autobody. After the Ghostland show a group of about 100 were lucky enough to take a journey in an old-school bus back to hear the long-awaited debut of the group which showcases Future Rock’s Felix  Moreno and Austin’s own DJ Thibault. Think a hybrid of Ratatat and Justice with bold flashes of blinding light and a smoky ambience - that is what we experienced until 5 am that Saturday night. Although the individuals are successful in their primary musical ventures, this group will act as a side project…for now, because with their talent and energy there is no way this duo will be low key for long.
