Paul & The Patients – Blogspot (Nick Seely Remix)

This song reminds me of one of my favorite LCD Soundsystem songs, Losing My Edge. The satirical lyrics about relevance freaks couldn’t be more representative of the way some people treat music these days.
I hear you’re buying a synthesizer and an arpeggiator and are throwing your computer out the window because you want to make something real. You want to make a Yaz record.
I hear that you and your band have sold your guitars and bought turntables.
I hear that you and your band have sold your turntables and bought guitars.I hear everybody that you know is more relevant than everybody that I know.” – LCD Soundsystem
Talking about what music should be, whose cool for listening to it, blah blah is boring. In fact, focusing on anything besides the song at hand kinda ruins the fantasy for me.
Fantasy love is much better then reality love.” – Andy Warhol
I half agree when it comes to romance but when it comes to music I totally agree with Andy. People get to caught up with semantics when listening and making music but it’s not that serious. Just listen, just make it, just enjoy.
