I heard the new Eminem album about a month ago and couldn’t really listen simply because all the songs were so depressing and personal that it was really hard to relate. Yesterday I went back and gave the album another shot and was captured by the song I’m posting today, Talking To Myself. In this song Eminem holds himself accountable for all his recent failures in life and music. In a hip hop world full of finger pointers and haters I can’t tell you how refreshing it was to hear someone address this issue.

Hatred was flowing through my veins, on the verge of going insane I almost made a song dissin’ Lil’ Wayne.

It’s like I was jealous of him cause of the attention he was gettin’ I felt horrible about myself… He was spittin and I wasn’t…”

That verse reminded why Eminem is a champion, it was with that powerful perspective and brutal honesty that he connected with the world at one point and I haven’t heard him come close to it since The Eminem Show, welcome back. It always fascinates me how people hate blindly on things they don’t really know or even care to know. You’ve never heard the term before but the auto-haters are everywhere, they could be sitting right next to you at this very moment hating on everything that comes their way. The reality of a situation has little to no importance in the mind of a hater so it’s importance to guard your perspective around these people or you could also be led into the hater world of darkness. Throughout this song Eminem explains how he saw symptoms of haterism developing in himself and how he fought to eliminate them. Coming to terms with the fact that you may be a hater yourself is one of the most difficult things to do and Eminem should be praised for making one less hater in the world.

But instead of feeling sorry for yourself do something about it, admit you got a problem, your brain is clouted, you’ve pouted long enough…

It isn’t them it’s you, you fucking baby, quit worrying about what they do and do shady!”
